Introduction
A Vertical Reference Unit (VRU) is an inertial measurement device designed to measure tilt angles (roll and pitch) through a combination of accelerometers and gyroscopes. An onboard fusion algorithm processes the raw sensor data and converts it into angles. These devices are straightforward to operate and highly reliable, making them ideal for applications requiring monitoring of only one or two angles.
An Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is a 9 degrees-of-freedom (DOF) inertial measurement device. A 3-axis accelerometer is used to sense gravitational acceleration and motion. A 3-axis gyroscope senses rotation rate, and a magnetometer provides 3-axis magnetic field measurements. This calibrated MEMS sensor assembly delivers a wealth of dynamic measurement data to support a wide range of applications.
An Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) is a 9-DOF system for measuring three-dimensional orientation (roll, pitch, and yaw angles). The CTi sensor fusion algorithm internally uses a combination of accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers to achieve this. The sensor is applicable to attitude control and robotics, as well as vehicle positioning and telemetry modules. Advanced users can access the underlying 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and 3-axis magnetometer measurement data. The rugged housing, interface options, and simple ASCII communication protocol minimize setup time, enabling users to begin testing more quickly.
The CS-200 series incorporates the latest high-performance, high-resolution miniature MEMS sensor technology.
