Introduction
Broadcom ACPL-K43T is a single-channel, high-temperature, high common-mode rejection, high-speed digital optocoupler in an eight-pin miniature package, designed specifically for automotive applications. The ACPL-K44T is the dual-channel equivalent of the ACPL-K43T. Both devices feature a stretched SO-8 package outline and are designed to be compatible with standard SMT processes. The digital optocoupler uses an insulating layer between the LED and the integrated photodetector to provide electrical isolation between input and output. Separate connections for the photodiode bias and output transistor collector reduce base-collector capacitance, enabling speeds more than 100 times greater than conventional phototransistor couplers. Broadcom R²Coupler™ isolation products offer enhanced insulation and reliability, providing safe signal isolation critical for automotive and high-temperature industrial applications.
