Introduction
The AFBR-15x1CZ analog transmitter uses a 650 nm LED light source, while the AFBR-25x1CZ receiver consists of an IC with an integrated photodiode, providing outputs compatible with TTL logic families. The AFBR-25x1CZ device features an inverted output signal, meaning the data output is low when the optical signal is on. The transmitter and receiver housings are designed for efficient coupling to 1 mm polymer optical fiber and 200 μm diameter plastic-clad silica fiber. Link lengths of up to 58 m are supported with 1 mm polymer optical fiber, and up to 500 m with 200 μm plastic-clad silica fiber. The transmitter is designed to interoperate with Broadcom HFBR-25xxZ and AFBR-26xxZ series receivers. Links comprising the AFBR-15x1CZ and AFBR-25x1CZ support operating temperatures up to +95°C. Both the transmitter and receiver are 4-pin devices housed in Versatile Link enclosures. Versatile Link components can be interlocked and stacked to save space, and provide dual connections via duplex connectors. A variety of simplex and duplex connectors as well as polymer optical fiber cables are available for Versatile Link components.
