This outstanding color light sensor enables your electronic devices to perceive vivid colors. The TCS34725, one of the best color sensors on the market, features RGB and Clear light sensing elements. An IR-blocking filter integrated on-chip at the color sensing photodiodes minimizes the infrared spectral component of incoming light, enabling accurate color measurement. Since humans cannot perceive infrared light, this filter allows you to obtain more true-to-life color data than most sensors. The sensor offers a dynamic range of up to 3,800,000:1, with adjustable integration time and gain, making it suitable for use behind dark glass. Supporting circuitry has also been added, including a 3.3V voltage regulator that allows you to safely power the board from 3–5VDC; the I2C pins feature level shifting for compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V logic. Finally, an onboard 4150K neutral LED driven by a MOSFET illuminates the object under inspection and can be easily turned on or off via any logic-level output. For added flexibility, the board is available in two versions: a breadboard-friendly development board and a wearable version compatible with the Flora wearable platform.
