SERCOS is an abbreviation for Serial Realtime Communications System, a standard digital interface for communications in industrial CNC applications, and is a European (EN 61491) and international standard (IEC 61491). Its optical interface supports data rates of 2, 4, 8, and 16 MBd, enabling data transfer between CNC controllers and drives over fiber optic rings with voltage isolation and noise immunity. The HFBR-1505AZ and HFBR-2505AZ products comply with the SERCOS optical characteristics and connector style specifications, guaranteeing performance at rates up to 10 MBd. PROFIBUS is an abbreviation for PROcess FIeld BUS, an open fieldbus standard defining data rates from 9.6 kBd to 12 MBd, with selectable segment lengths via copper wire or fiber optic. It is the German national standard DIN 19245 and the European CENELEC standard EN 50170. The ST® connector is the recommended optical port for the fiber optic version of PROFIBUS, though other connectors are also permitted. The HFBR-1515BZ and HFBR-2515BZ fully comply with the technical guidelines for plastic optical fiber use up to 6 MBd, guaranteeing performance at data rates up to 10 MBd. INTERBUS-S is a specialized open sensor/actuator bus widely adopted in the factory automation industry. The HFBR-1505CZ and HFBR-2505CZ are designed specifically for this application, compatible with 1 mm plastic optical fiber and 200 μm hard-clad silica fiber at the specified data rates of 500 kBd and 2 MBd. The optical transmission guidelines are a supplement to the draft German national standard DIN E 19258. At the European level, prEN 50254 is the draft standard for the INTERBUS-S fieldbus.
