Introduction
The AFBR-59E4APZ is a new energy-efficient, compact transceiver that provides system designers with a versatile solution for implementing Fast Ethernet over multimode fiber. The transceiver features an industry-standard 2×5 DIP form factor with an LC fiber connector interface. The transmitter section employs a 1310 nm LED driven by an IC that converts differential LVPECL logic signals into analog LED drive current. The receiver uses an InGaAs PIN photodiode coupled to a transimpedance preamplifier IC, connected to a quantizer IC for final pulse shaping of the data output. The data output is differential LVPECL, and the signal detect output is single-ended, both compatible with LVPECL.
