Introduction
The TDE/TDF1747 is a monolithic comparator designed for high-current and high-voltage applications, particularly for driving lamps, relays, and stepper motors. These devices are inherently explosion-proof. Peak output current can be limited to a safe value through current limiting, with adjustment requiring only a single external resistor. Additionally, a thermal shutdown function is provided to prevent IC overheating. If internal dissipation becomes excessive, the driver will shut down to prevent overheating. The TDE1747 features open-ground protection. The output is also protected against short circuits to the positive supply.
The device operates over a wide supply voltage range, from standard ±15 V op-amp supplies to single +12 V or +24 V supplies used in industrial electronic systems.
