Introduction
Precision 8-channel/dual 4-channel low-voltage CMOS analog multiplexers feature low on-resistance (less than 100Ω), channel-to-channel matching within 6Ω, and flat response across the specified analog signal range. They also provide low leakage at low temperatures (off-state leakage current less than 2.5nA at +85°C) and fast switching speed (transition time less than 250ns). The MAX398 is an 8-channel device, while the MAX399 is a dual 4-channel device. These multiplexers are fabricated using Maxim's low-voltage silicon-gate process, offering extremely low charge injection (less than 5pC) and guaranteed ESD protection exceeding 2000V. They operate from a single supply of +3V to +15V or dual supplies of ±3V to ±8V, while maintaining CMOS logic input compatibility and fast switching. CMOS inputs reduce input loading. The MAX398/MAX399 are pin-compatible with industry-standard DG408, DG409, DG508A, and DG509A.
