Introduction
The ADS114S06B and ADS114S08B are high-precision 16-bit Δ-Σ ADCs that combine low power consumption with multiple integrated features, reducing system cost and component count in compact sensor signal measurement applications. These ADCs include a digital filter that provides low-latency conversion results and 50Hz or 60Hz noise rejection in noisy industrial environments. The PGA offers low noise and selectable gains from 1 to 128, enabling amplification of low-level signals in resistor bridge or thermocouple applications. Both devices also integrate a low-drift 2.5V voltage reference, reducing PCB area. Two programmable IDACs are included for accurate RTD biasing. The input multiplexer supports 12 inputs for the ADS114S08B and 6 inputs for the ADS114S06B. These inputs can be connected to the ADC in any combination, enhancing design flexibility. Both devices also feature sensor burn-out detection, thermocouple voltage biasing, system monitoring, and four GPIO. These devices are available in leadless VQFN-32 or TQFP-32 packages.
