Introduction
NavChip is a high-precision MEMS 6-axis IMU. It employs proprietary MEMS technology and advanced signal processing techniques, outperforming other IMUs of the same size in terms of performance, miniaturization, and environmental adaptability. NavChip is particularly suited for embedded applications with stringent requirements on size, cost, and power consumption. It undergoes comprehensive factory calibration and temperature compensation over an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The device communicates commands and data via 3V TTL UART or standard SPI interface. The UART baud rate ranges from 38400 baud to 921600 baud, and both interfaces support user-selectable packet transmission rates of up to 200Hz. The internal data acquisition and processing rate is 1kHz, which can be integrated down to a user-selected lower rate. In addition, it can be synchronized with an external clock and programmed to correct externally mounted alignment errors.
Features
- Fully compensated ΔΘ and ΔV outputs
- Gyroscope bias stability: 5°/hr; angular random walk: 0.18°/√hr; velocity random walk: 0.03m/s/√hr; full-scale angular rate: 2000°/s; full-scale acceleration: ±16g
- Low power consumption: 135mW
- Optional built-in test (BIT) mode for commanded and continuous diagnostic monitoring; factory-calibrated bias, scale factor, and alignment errors (-40°C to +85°C)
- TTL UART or SPI-compatible data output interface; built-in temperature sensor
- Selectable output data type and rate
- External sync pin accepts optional GPS pulse-per-second or faster sync signals
- Single supply voltage: 3.25V to 5.5V
- Compact size: 12.5×24.5×5.4mm; lightweight: 3g; evaluation adapter board available
