Introduction
GS12241 is a low-power, multi-rate reclocking cable equalizer supporting rates up to 12G UHD-SDI. It is designed to equalize and recover signals received over 80 meters of coaxial cable at 12G, compensate for the DC content of SMPTE pathological signals, and reclock input data. An integrated eye monitor provides non-destructive, mission-mode analysis of the equalized input signal. The 256x128 resolution scan matrix enables precise signal analysis to accelerate prototyping and facilitate field analysis. Built-in macro support enables customizable cross-section analysis and rapid horizontal and vertical eye opening measurements. With high phase coherence between scans and configurable spatial and temporal thresholds, algorithms can be deployed in the field to analyze long-term signal quality variations (bathtub curves), reducing costly system installation and commissioning time caused by intermittent errors. Two independently controlled trace drivers feature highly configurable pre-emphasis and swing control to compensate for long trace and connector losses. Pre-emphasis pulse width can be optimized to compensate for transmission line frequency response perturbations caused by via connectors and stubs. GS12241 is pin-compatible with the GS12141 single-input and GS12142 dual-input 12G UHD-SDI multi-rate reclocking cable equalizers, as well as the GS3241 3G SDI multi-rate reclocking cable equalizer.
