Introduction
Operating power supply voltage range: 1.65V to 3.6V It can support 80 buttons with 18 general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins. It supports QWERTY keyboard operation and GPIO expansion. Low standby (idle) current consumption: 3μA It supports the 1MHz fast mode plus the I²C bus. A 10-byte first-in, first-out (FIFO) can store 10 key presses and releases. Open-drain, active-low interrupt output Integrated debounce time of 50μs Schmitt trigger operation enables slow input transitions and better switching noise immunity at the SCL and SDA inputs: The typical Vhys value is 0.18V at 1.8V. Latch-up performance exceeds 200mA, meeting the requirements of the JESD 78 Class II specification. ESD protection on all 18 GPIO pins and non-GPIO pins exceeds the requirements of the JESD 22 specification:

The TCA8418 is a keyboard scanning device with integrated ESD protection. It can operate at a power supply voltage of 1.65V to 3.6V and has 18 GPIOs. These GPIOs can support up to 80 keys through the I²C interface. The key controller can debounce the inputs and maintain a 10-byte FIFO for storing key press and release events. This FIFO can store up to 10 key events with the overflow wrap-around feature. The interrupt (INT) output can be configured to alert when a key press or release event occurs or when these events reach the maximum rate.
