Introduction
C2000 32-bit microcontrollers are optimized for processing, sensing, and driving to improve closed-loop performance in real-time control applications, such as industrial motor drives, photovoltaic inverters and digital power supplies, electric vehicles and transportation, motor control, and sensing and signal processing. The C2000 product line includes the Delfino high-end performance series and the Piccolo entry-level performance series.
The F2803x Piccolo series of microcontrollers integrates the performance of the C28x core and the control law accelerator (CLA) with highly integrated control peripherals into a low-pin-count device. The code of this series of devices is compatible with the legacy code based on C28x and has high analog integration.
An internal regulator enables single power rail operation. The HRPWM module is enhanced to enable bilateral edge control (frequency modulation). An analog comparator with a 10-bit internal reference is added, which can be directly routed to control the PWM output. The ADC can perform conversions in a fixed full-scale range of 0V to 3.3V and supports the proportional operation of the VREFHI/VREFLO reference. The ADC interface has been optimized for low overhead and latency.
