Introduction
The AD8221 is a gain-programmable, high-performance instrumentation amplifier with the highest CMRR versus frequency. At G = 1, the minimum CMRR is 80 dB across all grades, extending to 10 kHz. The high CMRR versus frequency enables the AD8221 to reject broadband interference and line harmonics, greatly simplifying filter requirements. Low offset voltage, low offset drift, low gain drift, high gain accuracy, and high CMRR make this device an excellent choice for applications demanding optimal DC performance, such as bridge signal conditioning. Programmable gain provides design flexibility. Gain can be set from 1 to 1000 via a single resistor. The AD8221 operates from single or dual supplies and is particularly well-suited for applications with input voltages of ±10 V. The device is available in low-cost 8-lead SOIC and MSOP packages, both delivering best-in-class performance. The MSOP requires only half the board space of the SOIC, making it ideal for multichannel or space-constrained applications. All grades are rated over the −40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range. In addition, the AD8221 is also functional over the −40°C to +125°C range.
