CONSONANCE CN3058E

CN3058E is an integrated circuit for constant-current/constant-voltage charging management of single-cell lithium iron phosphate batteries. The device integrates a power transistor internally, eliminating the need for external current-sensing resistors and blocking diodes. Requiring minimal external components, the CN3058E is ideally suited for portable applications. A thermal regulation circuit keeps the die temperature within a safe range when the device dissipates significant power or operates in high ambient temperatures. The internal fixed constant-voltage charge voltage is 3.6V, which can also be adjusted via an external resistor. Charge current is set through an external resistor. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power) is removed, the CN3058E automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, during which the battery current consumption is less than 3μA. Additional features include input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, battery temperature monitoring, and charge status/charge complete status indication. The CN3058E is available in a thermally enhanced 8-pin Small Outline Package (SOP8).
