A driver IC designed specifically for LED full-color display panel applications, featuring built-in 16-bit grayscale PWM control. The built-in 16-bit shift register converts serial input data into grayscale pixel values for each output channel. Users can adjust the output current of each output stage by selecting external resistors of different resistance values, and can also fine-tune the overall LED drive current via programmable 6-bit current gain adjustment.

Through S-PWM technology, the PWM function is enhanced by distributing the on-time into multiple shorter on-time intervals, thereby increasing the visual refresh rate. When building full-color display panels with 16-bit grayscale, S-PWM can be used to reduce image flickering. It reduces the PWM clock frequency requirements on the controller — users only need a clock frequency of a few MHz to achieve 16-bit grayscale PWM. The brightness of the corresponding LEDs can be adjusted via input image data, allowing each output channel to express 16-bit (65,536 grayscale levels) color variation. Each individual LED's brightness can be adjusted using information within the 16-bit image data for gamma correction compensation or LED deviation correction. To support scan display applications, a built-in pre-charge function eliminates ghost image artifacts caused by parasitic effects on the LED panel.
