The LT3473/LT3473A are micropower boost DC/DC converters in compact DFN packages with integrated Schottky diodes and output disconnect circuitry. The small package size, high integration, and use of tiny SMT components result in a solution footprint of less than 50mm². An internal 1A switch allows the device to deliver a 25V output from a single Li-Ion cell at currents up to 80mA, while automatic Burst Mode operation maintains efficiency at light loads. An auxiliary reference input (CTRL) allows the user to substitute any lower value for the internal 1.25V feedback reference, providing full control of the output voltage during operation. The PGOOD pin sinks current when the output voltage reaches 90% of its final value. The LT3473A includes two NPN transistors for generating an intermediate bias voltage from the output and comes in a 12-lead (4mm×3mm) DFN package. The LT3473 does not include these NPN transistors and comes in an 8-lead (3mm×3mm) DFN package. A robust 36V switch and output disconnect circuitry enable outputs up to 34V to be easily generated using a simple boost topology.
