Introduction
The PN8366 integrates an ultra-low standby power quasi-resonant primary-side controller with a 650V high-avalanche-capability smart power MOSFET, designed for high-performance chargers, adapters, and built-in power supplies with minimal external components. The PN8366 operates in primary-side feedback mode, eliminating the need for an optocoupler and TL431. The built-in high-voltage startup circuit enables a no-load chip power consumption of less than 30mW at 230VAC. In CV mode, quasi-resonant and multi-mode technologies improve efficiency and eliminate audio noise, allowing the system to meet Level VI energy efficiency standards; the adjustable output line compensation feature provides excellent load regulation. In CC mode, output current and power can be adjusted via the Rcs resistor on the CS pin. The IC offers comprehensive smart protection features, including cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, open-loop protection, overtemperature protection, output short-circuit protection, and CS open/short-circuit protection.
