Introduction
The SiT5356 is a ±100 ppb accuracy MEMS Super-TCXO that fully complies with the Telcordia GR-1244-CORE Stratum 3 oscillator specification. The SiT5356 is designed with excellent dynamic performance, making it ideal for high-reliability telecommunications, wireless and networking, industrial, precision GNSS, and audio/video applications.
The SiT5356 leverages SiTime's proprietary DualMEMS temperature sensing and TurboCompensation technology to deliver superior dynamic performance for timing stability in the presence of environmental disturbances such as airflow, temperature fluctuations, vibration, shock, and EMI. The device also integrates multiple on-chip voltage regulators to filter power supply noise, eliminating the need for dedicated external LDOs.
The SiT5356 is offered in three device configurations, orderable via ordering code:
- TCXO with a non-adjustable output frequency;
- VCTCXO allowing voltage-controlled output frequency adjustment;
- DCTCXO supporting digitally controlled output frequency via I²C interface, with frequency adjustment resolution down to 5 ppt (parts per trillion).
The SiT5356 can be factory-programmed for any combination of frequency, stability, voltage, and tuning range. This programmability enables designers to optimize clock configurations while eliminating the long lead times and custom costs associated with quartz devices, which require custom production for each frequency.
