Introduction
The ADuM1240/ADuM1241/ADuM1245/ADuM1246 are micropower, dual-channel digital isolators based on iCoupler technology. These isolation devices integrate high-speed CMOS with monolithic air-core transformer technology, delivering superior performance characteristics compared to alternative devices such as optocouplers. The 20-pin SSOP versions of the ADuM1240/ADuM1241/ADuM1245/ADuM1246 provide control over the internal refresh function. In standard operating mode, when ENₓ = 0 (internal refresh enabled), the current per channel is less than 10 μA; when ENₓ = 1 (internal refresh disabled), the current per channel drops below 1 μA. The 20-pin SSOP versions of the ADuM1240/ADuM1241/ADuM1245/ADuM1246 provide 3.75 kV reinforced isolation, while the 8-pin SOIC versions provide 3 kV basic isolation. These devices meet regulatory requirements such as UL and CSA standards. In addition to space-saving package options, the ADuM1240/ADuM1241/ADuM1245/ADuM1246 can operate from supplies as low as 2.25 V. All models feature low pulse width distortion of less than 8 ns. Furthermore, each model includes an input glitch filter to prevent interference from spurious noise.
