Introduction
CA-IS3211 is an optocoupler-compatible single-channel isolated gate driver designed to drive MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices. With an isolation rating of 5.7kV_RMS, the device delivers peak output current of 5A source and 6A sink.
A supply voltage range of up to 30V enables the use of bipolar power supplies for effective driving of IGBTs and SiC power FETs. Key performance highlights include high CMTI, low propagation delay, and low pulse width distortion. Tight process control ensures excellent device-to-device consistency. The input stage uses an analog diode, offering superior long-term reliability and aging characteristics compared to the LED input of conventional optocoupler-based isolated gate drivers. The combination of high performance and high reliability makes this device well suited for industrial power supplies, photovoltaic inverters, on-board chargers, DC motor control, and automotive air conditioning and heating systems. CA-IS3211 can drive both high-side and low-side power switches, offering full compatibility with traditional optocoupler gate drivers while significantly improving drive performance.
