Introduction
EG4318/EG4319/EG4320 is a dedicated lead-acid battery charge management IC for AC/DC power supplies, featuring automatic three-stage state switching among constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), and float charging modes. It integrates a dual-LED charge indicator switching circuit and driver circuit, significantly reducing external component count, improving system stability, and lowering production costs.
EG4318/EG4319 integrate a 2.5V reference voltage, a 250mV reference voltage, and a 50mV reference voltage. EG4320 integrates a 2.5V reference voltage, a 140mV reference voltage, and a 20mV reference voltage. EG4318/EG4319/EG4320 incorporate two op-amps, one current comparator, a float charge control circuit, and an LED control driver circuit. The 2.5V reference together with one internal op-amp forms a precision voltage control loop; users can set the output voltage required for the CV stage by adjusting the two external voltage-sensing resistors and the resistor on pin 6 (Vf). The 250mV reference together with the other internal op-amp forms a precision current control loop; users can set the output current required for the CC stage by adjusting the external current-sensing resistor. The 50mV or 20mV reference together with the internal current comparator forms a precision float voltage control loop and dual-LED control circuit; users can set the output voltage required for the float charging stage by adjusting the two external voltage-sensing resistors. Precise three-stage lead-acid battery charging control extends battery service life.
