Introduction
Is a single-cell lithium battery charge management IC that can be powered by solar energy. The device integrates power transistors internally, eliminating the need for external current sensing resistors and blocking diodes. The internal adaptive charge current module automatically adjusts the charge current based on the current output capability of the input power supply, so users do not need to consider worst-case scenarios and can maximize the utilization of the input power supply's current output capability. This makes it ideal for lithium battery charging applications powered by sources with limited current output capability, such as solar panels. Only minimal external components are required, making it highly suitable for portable applications. The thermal regulation circuit controls the chip temperature to approximately 132°C when the device dissipates significant power or operates in high ambient temperatures, preventing overheating. The charge current is set via an external resistor, with a minimum constant current charge setting down to milliamps, making it ideal for small-capacity battery charging applications. When the input voltage is removed, the device automatically enters a low-power sleep mode, during which the battery current is less than microamps. Other features include input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, standard-compliant battery temperature monitoring, charge current overcurrent protection, and charge status indication.
