The A4950ELJTR-T-MS is a full-bridge DMOS brushed motor driver IC with a maximum operating range of ±3.5A and 40V supply voltage, using PWM to control motor drive speed and direction. When both inputs are set low, the motor driver enters a low-power sleep mode. The A4950 integrates a current limiting function based on the analog input VREF and the voltage at the ISEN pin. The device can limit current to a known level, significantly reducing system power requirements and eliminating the need for large bulk capacitors to maintain stable voltage, especially during motor start-up and coast-to-stop. Internal shutdown functions include overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and overtemperature protection. The A4950ELJTR-T-MS is offered in an SOP-8 package with an exposed pad for improved thermal dissipation. It is a lead-free product with 100% matte tin-plated leadframe.

The A4950 is a brushed DC motor driver with a single VP supply and an integrated charge pump. Two logic inputs control an H-bridge driver composed of four N-MOSFETs, capable of bidirectional motor control at peak currents up to 3.5A. The device uses current decay to preset the maximum output current, limiting it to a known level. When both inputs are set low, the motor driver enters a low-power sleep mode.
