Introduction
CA-IS3211 is an optocoupler-compatible single-channel isolated gate driver for driving MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC devices. With an isolation rating of 5.7kV_RMS, the device provides 5A source and 6A sink peak output current capability. A supply voltage range of up to 30V allows the use of bipolar supplies to effectively drive IGBTs and SiC power FETs. Key performance highlights include: high CMTI, low propagation delay, and low pulse width distortion. Tight process control ensures excellent device-to-device consistency. The input stage uses an analog diode, offering superior long-term reliability and aging characteristics compared to the LED used in conventional optocoupler-based isolated gate drivers. The combination of high performance and high reliability makes this device well-suited for industrial power supplies, photovoltaic inverters, onboard chargers, DC motor control, and automotive air conditioning and heating systems. CA-IS3211 can drive both high-side and low-side power switches, achieving full compatibility with conventional optocoupler gate drivers while significantly improving drive performance.
