Introduction
The FC23 is a high-compression force sensor that opens new markets previously unattainable due to cost and performance limitations. The FC23 provides normalized zero and span for interchangeability and is thermally compensated for zero and span shifts over temperature. The FC23 utilizes MEAS's proprietary Microfused™ technology, which fuses micromachined silicon piezoresistive strain gauges to a high-performance stainless steel substrate using high-temperature glass. Microfused™ technology eliminates the aging-sensitive organic epoxies used in conventional load cell designs, delivering excellent long-term span and zero stability. The FC23 measures force directly and is therefore immune to lead wire fatigue failures common in competing designs that use pressure capsules embedded in silicone gel-filled cavities. Microfused™ technology operates at extremely low strain levels, providing virtually unlimited cycle life, superior resolution, and high overload capability.
