SEMTECH GS2960-IBE3

GS2960 is a multi-rate serial digital interface receiver with integrated SMPTE video processing, compliant with SMPTE 425M, 292, and 259M-C standards. The processing functions can be bypassed to support other encoding schemes. The device integrates a retimer with an internal VCO, offering a wide input jitter tolerance of 0.7UI. It provides a serial digital loop-through output configurable as either retimed or non-retimed. The device operates in four basic modes: SMPTE mode, DVB-ASI mode, data pass-through mode, or standby mode. In SMPTE mode, it performs descrambling, NRZI-to-NRZ decoding, and word alignment, detects multiple error types, and provides ancillary data extraction, line/field timing extraction, and video standard detection. It supports SMPTE 425M Level A and Level B inputs, with Level B-to-Level A conversion for specific formats. In DVB-ASI mode, it performs sync word detection, alignment, and 8b/10b decoding on the received data stream. In data pass-through mode, all processing functions are disabled and the device operates as a simple serial-to-parallel converter. The parallel data output supports 20-bit or 10-bit multiplexed formats to accommodate various video rates. For specific modes, the device operates in double data rate mode to reduce the I/O speed requirements of downstream devices.
