Introduction
Mini-Circuits suspended substrate stripline filters use a structure in which a PCB is suspended between two parallel ground planes, achieving high Q factors that deliver low insertion loss. The combination of low insertion loss and wide stopband makes them an excellent choice for broadband instrumentation and systems. This technology enables lowpass, highpass, bandpass, bandstop, diplexer, and multiplexer designs. Advanced filter design and construction achieve stopband widths greater than 6 times the center frequency, and because the field exists primarily in air rather than in the dielectric, temperature stability is superior to other printed circuit implementations. The circuit is secured to the inner walls of the housing to prevent displacement due to vibration or mechanical shock, making these designs well suited for harsh operating environments. Suspended substrate stripline filters are available in compact form factors with high-quality precision machining for space-critical applications. Precise tuning and process control deliver excellent unit-to-unit repeatability.
Features
- 40% fractional bandwidth design
- Typical insertion loss of 1dB at center frequency
- Steep roll-off
- Typical high suppression floor of 90dB
- Stopband up to 26.5 GHz
- Connectorized package
Applications
- Satellite communications
- Radio navigation
- Space research
