VIPAC is an integrated power system utilizing the latest DC-DC converter technology and a modular front end. It combines application-specific power processing units (PPUs), optional chassis styles, and remotely placed hold-up capacitors to deliver fast, flexible, and highly reliable power solutions for demanding applications. The PPU is the core of the system, configurable for 115/230 Vac operation. It integrates a self-regulating FARM modular front end that provides transient protection, EMI filtering, and inrush current limiting. The web-based PowerBench tool enables designers to configure the PPU with up to three independently regulated outputs, with power levels from 50 to 500 W and total output power up to 900 W. Maxi, Mini, and Micro series DC-DC converters in industry-standard quarter-brick, half-brick, and full-brick packages provide output voltages from 2 to 48 Vdc. In addition, the wide trim range of the modules supports operating voltages as low as 500 mV. The PPU consists of: an AC input modular front end, high-density DC-DC converters, a cold plate or finned chassis, and optional output termination styles. VIPAC is available in multiple chassis configurations for use in applications employing conduction, convection, or forced convection cooling. The low-profile conduction-cooled version can be mounted to an existing cabinet wall, cold plate, or heat sink. The 0.5-inch or 1-inch finned versions, available in portrait or landscape configurations, are ideal for natural or forced convection environments. The use of standard chassis dimensions allows VIPAC units with different input voltage configurations to be used interchangeably based on system and market requirements. VIPAC's use of remotely placed capacitors enables packaging and layout options that were previously not achievable. The low-profile PPU can be placed closer to the load or mounted on a cabinet wall, while the capacitors can be integrated into the host system away from heat sources to improve reliability. System hold-up/ride-through requirements can also be customized for specific applications using capacitors of different values. Hold-up capacitors are available from Vicor as pre-packaged hold-up capacitor boxes. VIPAC represents a new class of flexible, high-density power solutions. Output specifications (general) are at 25°C, nominal line, and nominal load unless otherwise specified, per module. For detailed module specifications, refer to the 300V Maxi, Mini, Micro series datasheet.

Funkcje

Tłumaczenie AI
  • Auto-ranging AC input: 115/230 Vac, 50/60 Hz (400 Hz optional)
  • Analog user interface: power-up/power-down control, bus good indication
  • Distributed power architecture: maximized packaging flexibility, remote holdup capacitors (AC input), user-definable holdup characteristics (AC input), enhanced reliability
  • Wide operating temperature range: –20°C to +95°C (C-grade chassis), –40°C to +95°C (T-grade chassis)
  • Secondary control: output voltage trim (10–110% Vout), output voltage selection
