Introduction
The RCM4300, based on the Rabbit 4000 microprocessor, offers greater storage capacity than other RabbitCore modules. It supports industry-standard miniSD cards up to 1GB, which feature hot-swap capability and use a FAT file system for easy data organization and sharing with other systems. The module also includes 1MB of onboard SRAM, which — through the megabyte code support feature in Dynamic C software — can be used for shared memory and code space, as well as 512K bytes of battery-backed SRAM for retaining code and data during power-down mode. The RCM4300 is pin-compatible with other RCM4xxx series core modules, facilitating migration from other designs. For designs requiring more I/O, the Rabbit RIO chip can be considered to expand general-purpose I/O and special-function I/O such as PWM and input capture. The RCM4300 family also includes the RCM4310, a lower-cost variant of the RCM4300 that offers less SRAM and removes analog input support.
