Introduction
The TC1262 is a fixed-output, high-accuracy (±0.5% typical) CMOS LDO regulator designed for battery-powered systems. Its CMOS architecture eliminates excess ground current, significantly extending battery life. Total supply current at full load is 80μA — 20 to 60 times lower than bipolar regulators.
Key features of the TC1262 include ultra-low noise operation, very low dropout voltage (350mV typical at full load), and fast response to load step changes.
The TC1262 also incorporates thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection. It operates stably with an output capacitor as small as 1μF and delivers a maximum output current of 500mA. Available package options include 3-pin SOT-223, 3-pin TO-220, and 3-pin DDPAK.
The TC1262 is a high-accuracy fixed-output LDO. Unlike bipolar regulators, the TC1262's supply current does not increase with load current. Furthermore, V_OUT remains stable and within regulation across the full load current range from 0mA to I_OUTMAX — a critical feature for RTC and CMOS RAM battery backup applications.
