Introduction
Digital isolators offer outstanding performance characteristics and reliability, surpassing optocouplers and other principle-based counterparts in overall performance. They employ an intelligent voltage-division technology representing a new generation of digital isolation, based on the capacitive voltage-division principle, enabling precise transmission of voltage signals across the isolation barrier without the need for modulation and demodulation. Each transmission channel is independent, supporting multiple transmission direction configurations, with isolation voltage ratings from 1.5kV rms to 5.0kV rms and signal transmission rates from DC to 600Mbps. The operating voltage range is 3.0V to 5.5V, with support for 3.0V to 5.5V signal level translation. When the input-side supply is unpowered or no input signal is present while the output-side supply is active, the isolator output maintains a default logic level.
