Introduction
VT880R is a next-generation low-power, high-performance, plug-and-play OOK RF receiver requiring no register configuration. It offers excellent sensitivity and interference immunity, making it ideal for high-performance wireless reception applications in the 300 to 440 MHz ISM band. The device operates from 2.1 to 5.5 V, with reception performance remaining largely independent of supply voltage across this range. Operating at 433.92 MHz, it achieves a receive sensitivity of -118 dBm at only 5.3 mA. By selecting crystals of different frequencies, the device can operate at the commonly used 315 MHz frequency or other RF frequencies within the supported band. VT880R supports data rates from 1 to 20 kbps and can be paired with a matching kinetic energy transmitter for battery-free remote control product development. The chip employs a low-IF receiver architecture with an integrated LNA, mixer, IF filter, detector, and PLL. AGC circuitry and capacitors are also integrated on-chip, enabling automatic gain control and received data filtering without external capacitors. VT880R uses a single-ended crystal oscillator circuit with the required load capacitance integrated on-chip. A crystal with ±20 ppm accuracy, ESR less than 50 Ω, and a load capacitance of 15 pF is recommended. There is a defined relationship between the RF operating frequency and the crystal frequency — for operation at 433.92 MHz, the required crystal frequency range is 13.51783 MHz to 13.52127 MHz; for operation at 315 MHz, the required crystal frequency range is 9.8131 MHz to 9.81563 MHz. The data filter bandwidth can be configured according to the data rate: when the selection pin is low, the bandwidth is 4 kbps; when high, the bandwidth is 20 kbps. The appropriate bandwidth must be selected based on the data rate to achieve optimal performance.
