Introduction
This series of fixed-voltage monolithic integrated circuit regulators is designed for a wide range of applications. These applications include on-board regulation to eliminate the noise and distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. In addition, they can be used with power-pass elements to form high-current voltage regulators. Each regulator can deliver output currents up to 100mA. Internal current limiting and thermal shutdown features make them essentially immune to overload. When used as a replacement for zener diode-resistor combinations, effective improvement in output impedance and lower quiescent current can be achieved.
