Introduction
The CD4028B is a BCD-to-decimal or binary-to-octal decoder consisting of 4 inputs, decoding logic gates, and 10 output buffers. A BCD code applied to the 4 inputs A, B, C, and D produces a high level on one of the 10 selected decimal decoded outputs. Similarly, a 3-bit binary code applied to inputs A, B, and C performs octal decoding on outputs 0–7. A high-level signal on input D inhibits octal decoding and forces outputs 0–7 low. All inputs are protected against ESD damage by diode clamps connected to VDD and VSS.
