Introduction
MSTP4054H is a 500mA single-cell lithium-ion battery linear charger with an input voltage rating up to 32V and input overvoltage protection. It employs a constant-current/constant-voltage charging mode with an integrated PMOSFET architecture and reverse-current blocking circuit, eliminating the need for an external isolation diode. A thermal feedback mechanism adaptively adjusts the charging current to limit the die temperature during high-power operation or in high-temperature environments. The full-charge cutoff voltage is 4.2V (customizable to 4.35V), and the charging current is set via an external resistor. When the charging current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, the device automatically terminates the charging cycle. When input power is removed, the device enters a low-power state with a battery leakage current below 0.1μA. Additional features include undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two LED status pins for indicating charging and end-of-charge states. The device is available in a SOT23-5 package with a bottom thermal pad, suitable for USB power and adapter power applications.
