Introduction
The 4054H-MS is a 500mA single-cell Li-ion linear battery charger with input voltage tolerance up to 32V and power overvoltage protection, operating in CC/CV charging mode. It employs an internal PMOSFET architecture with integrated reverse-current protection, eliminating the need for an external blocking diode. A thermal feedback mechanism adaptively reduces charging current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or elevated ambient temperature conditions. The final float voltage is 4.2V (4.35V available upon request). Charging current is set via an external resistor. When the charging current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value after reaching the final float voltage, the device automatically terminates the charging cycle. When input power is removed, the device automatically enters a low-current state, reducing battery leakage current to below 0.1µA. Additional features include undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two LED status pins for indicating charge status and end-of-charge status. The device is available in a SOT23-5 package with a bottom-side thermal pad. Suitable for USB power supplies and adapter power supplies.
