Introduction
The device is protected against damage caused by overvoltage faults such as direct power supply short circuits, miswiring faults, connector failures, cable crushing, and tool misuse. It also features advanced Human Body Model (HBM) protection specifications, maintaining stability during ESD events.
The SN65HVD1781A-Q1 combines a differential driver and a differential receiver, both powered by a single supply. The driver differential output and receiver differential input are internally connected to form a bus port suitable for half-duplex (two-wire bus) communication. This port features a wide common-mode voltage range, making the device suitable for multipoint applications over long cables. The device operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
The SN65HVD1781A-Q1 is a pin-compatible transceiver compliant with the industry-standard SN75176, making it a universal drop-in upgrade for most systems.
When powered by a 5V supply, the device is fully compliant with ANSI TIA/EIA 485-A, and can also operate from a 3.3V supply with reduced driver output voltage for low-power applications.
