The AFD series connectors introduced by DEUTSCH represent the most advanced design currently available, reflecting and leading future development trends, and comply with MIL-C 26482 Series 2 bayonet connector requirements. Compared to previous devices, this series offers numerous advantages: higher performance characteristics, fully sealable for harsh environments, reduced assembly and rework costs, simplified assembly procedures, hard plastic socket interface to prevent bent-pin insertion, rear-release system, RFI fingerstock available exclusively on AFD 57, intermateability and interchangeability with DEUTSCH series connectors, 9 shell sizes and 27 different contact arrangements, and a DBC version sealed electrical connector.
