Introduction
The MSP706P/R/S/T/J, MSP708R/S/T/J, MSP705/6/8, and MSP813L ICs are primarily designed for monitoring power supply and battery voltages. A reset signal is generated when the supply voltage falls below 2.63V (MSP706P/R, MSP708R), 2.93V (MSP706S, MSP708S), 3.08V (MSP706T, MSP708T), 4.00V (MSP706J, MSP708J), 4.40V (MSP706/MSP708), or 4.65V (MSP705, MSP813L). The MSP706P/R/S/T/J, MSP705/706/813L ICs feature a watchdog circuit with a 1.6-second reset delay. Leaving the WDI pin floating disables the watchdog timer. The MSP708R/S/T/J and MSP708 ICs provide both active-high and active-low reset outputs, but do not include watchdog functionality. The MSP706P is functionally equivalent to the MSP706R, except that the MSP706P reset output is active-high. Similarly, the MSP813L is functionally equivalent to the MSP705, except that the MSP813L reset output is active-high. A built-in 1.25V comparator is available for low-voltage battery monitoring. All ICs support manual reset. Available packages include 8-pin SOP and compact MSOP.
