Introduction
This device is an integrated ideal diode designed to replace conventional diodes in low-voltage systems where the high forward voltage drop of traditional Schottky components is unacceptable. When enabled and forward-biased, the device regulates the voltage between the input and output pins, producing a forward voltage drop V_REG approximately one order of magnitude lower than a similarly rated Schottky diode. When the output voltage exceeds the input voltage, the device becomes reverse-biased with extremely low leakage current. The integrated reverse polarity protection prevents damage to components connected to the output pin in the event of power supply reverse connection. The enable pin determines whether the device operates in forward regulation mode or body diode mode. Multiple power supply configurations are supported for system flexibility. The open-drain status pin is high-impedance when the device is enabled and conducting in the forward direction, and pulls low when disabled or under reverse-bias conditions. This status pin can be used to control an external PMOS to OR additional power sources, or connected to a microcontroller to indicate device status. The device is offered in a standard package compatible with industry-standard footprints, providing a smaller board area compared to conventional low-current diodes.
