Introduction
TPS37-Q1 is a 65V input voltage detector with 1μA IDD, 1% accuracy, and a fast 10μs detection time. The device connects directly to 12V/24V automotive battery systems for continuous OV and UV monitoring; its overall solution size is very compact due to the use of an internal resistive voltage divider. The wide range of available hysteresis voltage options allows cold crank, stop-start, and various automotive battery voltage transients to be ignored. Built-in hysteresis on the SENSE pin prevents false reset signals when monitoring power supply voltage rails.
Separate VDD and SENSE pins provide the redundancy required for high-reliability automotive systems, and SENSE can monitor voltages both higher and lower than VDD. The high-impedance input of the SENSE pin supports the use of optional external resistors. The CTSx and CTRx pins allow delay adjustment of the rising and falling edges of the RESET signal. In addition, CTSx can ignore voltage glitches on the monitored voltage rail, functioning as a debouncer; CTRx serves as a manual reset (MR) function that can be used to force a system reset.
TPS37-Q1 is available in WSON or SOT-23 packages. The WSON package features wettable flanks for automated optical inspection (AOI) and low-resolution X-ray inspection. Per IEC60664 guidelines, the center pad is non-conductive to increase the creepage distance between VDD and GND.
