Introduction
This series of CMOS analog switches provides low-impedance switching for analog voltages up to the supply rails and signal currents up to 80mA. The "on" resistance is low and remains relatively constant across the full operating signal voltage and current range. For input voltages between +5V and -5V and currents up to 50mA, the row resistance remains exceptionally constant. Switch impedance also varies minimally with temperature, particularly between 0°C and +75°C. The HI-5048 through HI-5051 and the HI-5046A and HI-5047A have a nominal row resistance of 25Ω, while the HI-5040 through HI-5047 have a nominal row resistance of 50Ω.
All devices feature break-before-make switching and are compatible with TTL and CMOS for maximum application flexibility. Performance is further enhanced through a dielectric isolation process, ensuring latch-free operation with very low input and output leakage currents (0.8nA at +25°C). This switch series also features ultra-low power consumption (1.5mW at +25°C).
The switch family comprises 14 devices, differentiated by switch type and Ron value (see Functional Description). All devices are available in 16-pin DIP packages. The HI-5040 and HI-5050 switches are direct replacements for devices in the IH-5040 series (except the IH5048) and are functionally compatible with the DG180 and DG190 series. Each switch type is available in two performance grades: -55°C to +125°C and 0°C to +75°C.
