Introduction
The NSC800 is an 8-bit CMOS microprocessor serving as the central processing unit in National Semiconductor's NSC800 microcomputer family. Fabricated using micro-CMOS technology, the device offers system designers performance comparable to equivalent NMOS products while providing the low-power advantages of CMOS. The device integrates multiple system functions, including vectored priority interrupts, refresh control, power-saving capability, and interrupt acknowledge. The NSC800 is available in DIP and surface-mount chip carrier packages. System designers can interface dedicated CMOS peripherals directly with the NSC800, or choose from National Semiconductor's full line of CMOS products to achieve low-power system solutions. Dedicated peripherals include the NSC810A RAM I/O Timer, NSC858 UART, and NSC831 I/O.
