Introduction
The IR3899A is an easy-to-use, fully integrated DC-DC buck regulator. The on-board PWM controller and integrated bootstrap diode MOSFET make the IR3899A a small-footprint solution capable of delivering efficient power conversion. In addition, it employs a fast constant on-time (COT) control scheme that simplifies design effort and provides fast transient response. The IR3899A features an internal LDO that enables single-supply operation. It is a versatile regulator offering a programmable switching frequency from 600 kHz to 2 MHz, two selectable current limit settings, forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM), and diode emulation mode (DEM) operation. It also incorporates essential protection features such as pre-bias startup, thermally compensated current limiting, overvoltage and undervoltage protection, and thermal shutdown to ensure the required system-level safety under fault conditions.
