Introduction
CYM1846V33 is a high-performance 3.3V 16-megabit SRAM module organized as 512K words × 32 bits. The module consists of four 512K × 8 SRAM dies in SOJ packages mounted on an epoxy laminate substrate. Four chip select signals are used to independently enable each of the four bytes. By using the chip select signals appropriately, read and write operations can be performed on any combination of individual or multiple bytes. The CYM1846V33 is designed for standard 72-pin SIMM sockets. Its pinout is downward compatible with the 64-pin JEDEC ZIP/SIMM module family (CYM1821, CYM1831, CYM1836, and CYM1841). This allows a single board design to accommodate memory depths ranging from 16K words (CYM1821) to 1024K words (CYM1851). The CYM1846V33 is available in a vertical SIMM configuration with edge contacts finished in either tin-lead or 10 microinch flash gold. Presence detect pins (PD₀ – PD₃) are provided to identify the memory density of the module in applications where modules of different word depths are interchangeable.
