Introduction
NS4158 is a mono digital audio power amplifier featuring anti-clipping functionality, ultra-low EMI, filterless operation, and 5W high efficiency. The unique anti-clipping function dynamically adjusts the system gain by detecting distortion in the output signal, effectively preventing overload output from damaging the speaker while delivering a comfortable listening experience. In practical applications, the amplifier can be configured to operate in anti-clipping mode or normal mode via either software or hardware control. Software control is implemented through one-wire pulse control, while hardware control is implemented through logic level control, offering great application flexibility. NS4158 employs advanced technology to significantly reduce EMI interference across the full bandwidth, minimizing impact on other components. Its filterless PWM modulation architecture and built-in feedback resistors reduce external component count, PCB area, and system cost. At a supply voltage of 5V, the NS4158 can deliver 5W of output power into a 2Ω load.
The NS4158 integrates overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection, and undervoltage protection, effectively safeguarding the device against damage under abnormal operating conditions. Leveraging spread-spectrum technology to fully optimize the new circuit design, efficiency of up to 90% or higher makes it well suited for audio systems requiring low-voltage, high-power output.
