Introduction
The LMR10530 voltage regulator is a monolithic, high-frequency, PWM step-down DC/DC converter in a 10-pin WSON package. This device incorporates all the necessary functions to provide local DC/DC conversion with fast transient response and precise regulation in the smallest possible PCB area. The LMR10530 is easy to use with a minimum number of external components. It can drive a 3A load through an internal 56mΩ PMOS switch using state-of-the-art 0.5μm BiCMOS technology, achieving optimal power density. The control circuit enables an on-time as low as 30ns, supporting extremely high-frequency conversion across the entire 3V to 5.5V input operating range with a minimum output voltage of 0.6V. The switching frequency is internally set to 1.5MHz or 3MHz, allowing the use of very small surface-mount inductors and capacitors. Despite the high operating frequency, an efficiency of up to 93% can be easily achieved. An external shutdown function is included, featuring an ultra-low standby current of 300nA. The LMR10530 utilizes peak current mode control and internal compensation to provide high-performance regulation under various operating conditions. Other features include an internal soft-start circuit to reduce inrush current, cycle-by-cycle current limit, frequency foldback, thermal shutdown, and output overvoltage protection.
