The TPS274160 device is a smart high-side switch that drives the gate through four integrated 160mΩ NMOS power FETs and a charge pump. The device provides robust protection and diagnostic features, capable of driving a wide variety of inductive, capacitive, and resistive loads such as low-wattage bulbs, LEDs, relays, solenoids, heaters, and sub-modules. The device supports flexible multi-channel output configurations via parallel channels and is housed in an ultra-compact WQFN package for use in space-constrained applications. The device features short-circuit and over-temperature protection, enabling safe output shutdown during fault conditions. The device also supports external adjustment of the current limit threshold. This feature improves system reliability by reducing inrush current when driving large capacitive loads and minimizing overcurrent conditions, thereby eliminating system undervoltage situations. The device also integrates diagnostic features such as output current monitoring (version B) and open-load detection, making modules smarter and enabling predictive maintenance capabilities.
