Introduction
The TAS5721 is a highly efficient, digital-input audio amplifier designed to drive a 2.0 speaker system configured as a bridge-tied load (BTL), a 2.1 system with two satellite speakers and a subwoofer, or a single speaker configured as a parallel bridge-tied load (PBTL) in a PBTL system. A single serial data input handles up to two independent audio channels and integrates seamlessly with most digital audio processors and MPEG decoders. The device accepts a wide range of input data formats and sample rates. A fully programmable data path routes these channels to the internal speaker drivers. The TAS5721 is a slave device that receives all clocks from an external source. Depending on the output sample rate, the TAS5721 operates with a PWM carrier switching rate ranging from 384kHz to 288kHz. Oversampling combined with a fourth-order noise shaper provides a true white noise floor and excellent dynamic range from 20Hz to 20kHz. An integrated center-grounded DirectPath™ combo headphone amplifier and 2VRMS line driver are integrated in the TAS5721.
